Love the business you are living in

With the advances in modern medicine and knowledge of how the human body works, it is not unreasonable to expect to live for a century. We are constantly told to take care and nurture the body we are living in, so it will serve us well.

With the advances in modern state retirement ages and knowledge of how pension funds work, it is not unreasonable to expect our business to have to support us for nearly a century. Ergo we should take care and nurture the business we are living in, so it will serve us well.

Feed

The best nutrition you can feed your business is knowledge, keep reading and learning, meet and talk with mentors and people more experienced than you, allow your employees the time and space to investigate what interests them.

Exercise

Push your business processes, can you make them faster, more efficient, better quality, constantly try new things as failure is the only route to success.

Lose Weight

In today’s economy the winners are those who stay lean and adaptable, there is no room to carry excess layers of management, negativity and procrastination, keep the muscle lose the fat.

Retain

No clients – no business,  racing to the bottom on price will not buy you loyalty. Choose your clients well, you are investing your time and energy in them and you deserve to be adequately recompensed for the value you are giving them. Say goodbye to clients that don’t match the brief, and spend your time with those that do.

Celebrate

Take the time to stop and reflect on what you have achieved; appreciation of a job well done is a great motivator to keep moving forward.

So…

What one thing can you do today to improve the health of your business?
